Choosing a venue for your corporate cocktail reception
A successful cocktail reception gives people room to connect. Capacity alone will not tell you whether your guests can move around and talk comfortably.
Plan your meeting zones
Separate arrivals, drinks, catering and conversation areas. An entrance queue or a buffet in a passageway can disrupt the whole reception. Provide seating and accessible routes suited to your guests.
Match the music to the programme
Arrival music, a speech and a DJ require different setups. Check what the venue permits, at which times and with which equipment. For a networking event, retain areas where conversation remains comfortable.
Confirm the final details
Confirm guest numbers, the running order, dietary requirements, weather arrangements and operational contacts. A shared production sheet helps clarify each supplier’s responsibilities.
